Instructions on Parting is a film that I have been talking about for the three years since I first saw it. I am thrilled to share this invitation to a discussion with filmmaker Amy Jenkins which includes a voucher that allows you to screen the film at home beforehand. While this film intimately documents the experiences of one family thru multiple deaths in a short period of time, it also offers the viewer an expansive and universal experience of time. Jenkins invites us into life-cycle consciousness of forest and living room. Mortals navigating life with death, from day to day, comes into clearer focus when the medical drama, the life vs death battle, is de-centered.
