Mazel 2011-2019

July 24, 2018

Mazel entered and exited my life unexpectedly. She showed up one day outside the door of my lover’s studio crying for entry off the street. She was everything I most love about cats: fierce, independent, wild, and a master cuddler. She was hit by a car in front of my house last June. Her death is devastating and the circumstances enabled a good-bye without trauma or difficult decisions. She died instantly and her body was intact. This allowed us to take time to say goodby to her body with ritual and burial at home in our own time.
